Faro Cabo Mayor – Amazing Cantabrian Coast

I don’t know what it is about Cantabria, but to-date it’s my favorite place in Europe, and probably the only region of Spain which I have visited several times – and I don’t intend on stopping.

So get ready for me continuing to bombard you with more photos from the north of Spain. I cant help it, I’m just drawn there… And the more chaos there is in my day to day, the more my mind wanders and thinks “maybe a weekend in Cantabria?”

Today another edition of our first visit from the summer of 2017, with some unbelievable views from the vicinity of Santander. The historic lighthouse (Faro Cabo Mayor) is a place you shouldn’t miss if you intend on visiting the region. The views are worth the afternoon walk from the city, but if you want to save time and energy, you can of course just drive up.

In addition to the views from around the lighthouse, I’m also including some other shots from the area. Cantabria is a land of beautiful sandy beaches and you´ll find two of them within Santander itself. The area also has many secluded beaches, nestled among cliffs, and which usually have no infrastructure or easy access, but their charm means that it’s really worthwhile visiting in the Summer.

Next time I’ll probably show you some of the Cantabrian coast in a winter aura.
